What is The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation?

The Ohio Masonic Home Foundation is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Ohio Masonic Communities. Our purpose is to partner with donors to provide charitable support for the people, projects, programs, operations and facilities of The Ohio Masonic Communities and its subsidiaries.

Why does The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation need support?

The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation was created to support the operations, and to maintain, develop, and extend the facilities and services of The Ohio Masonic Communities, and any tax-exempt subsidiary of The Ohio Masonic Communities. This is in an effort to provide relief to the aged, infirm and distressed elders across the State of Ohio. The need continues to grow as Ohio’s population ages. The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation works to accomplish this via the implementation and management of a fundraising program.

Why do I mail my charitable gift to The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation and not the campus or region I want to support?

The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation provides fundraising and gift administration services on behalf of the entire organization. Having a separate foundation that manages all gifts not only helps to streamline the process, but allows staff working in our communities and The Ohio Masonic Communities Resource Center to focus their time on the meaningful work they carry out. Additionally, by centralizing this function, the foundation is able to closely track all gifts to ensure they are used strictly where the donor designates. It helps us to create meaningful relationships with our donors.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes, because The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, any charitable gift you make to us is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Who pays The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation’s operating costs?

The Ohio Masonic Communities Foundation is self-funded and separate from The Ohio Masonic Communities’ operations, meaning that it is not supported by resident or patient rates. Since our founding in 1995, we have paid our expenses with a portion of the generous donations received and income earned on the Foundation’s investments.
